Tara Na! Biyahe Tayo! SAGADA!
went there this weekend at tip no. 1: bitin ang isang weekend sa Sagada.
TRANSPO: The fastest, most comfy way is by taking Cable Tours Bus for Bontoc. Isang maliit na aircon bus ito na walang istasyon. Basta umaalis ito from the street between St. Luke's Hospital and Trinity College 830PM nightly for Bontoc. . Text Mr. Bert 0919-386-2159 kasi kelangan n'yong mag-reserve ng seats sa bus. P500 ang bus. From Bontoc, may jeep to Sagada. P35 pamasahe. 12 hours 'yung trip to Bontoc, 45-60mins na lang 'yung jeep from Bontoc to Sagada.
FOOD: Saturday is the only market day so puwede kayo ru'ng mamili ng pagkaing puwedeng lutuin (don't forget the fresh na fresh na gulay). Manila rates na rin halos 'yung good restos pero sulit naman sa sarap at servings. Try out Yoghurt House (yoghurt with fresh fruits plus maganda ang collection of periodicals nila); Masferre (the best hot chocolate, lahat masarap, pati 'yung sawasawan nilang dinurog na green chili tapos may oil tineyk-hom ko); Shamrock for booze.
STAY WHERE: Maganda sa St. Joseph Inn. 300/night ang isang double room. P1500/night ang isang cottage. Kapag peak seasons, like Holy Week, you'd have to book in advance. Try n'yo na lang sa iba like the Sagada Inn and The Green House.
SITES: Upon arrival, register at the Tourist Information Center sa Municipal Hall and help them out by paying the 10-peso Tourist Fee. Buy a map then plot your itinerary. A guide when visiting the caves is a must. Ganda sa Sumaguing Cave! 450/5 persons ang rate niya.From the town proper walking distance lang naman most everything: Echo Valley, the Hanging Coffins, St. Mary's Church... The big falls are 3 hours away daw by jeep at baka raw walang tubig sa small falls ngayong summer.
OTHER THINGS: Puwedeng magpamasahe (P250). May 9PM curfew but it's not a military curfew, meaning puwede namang lumabas at mag-inom 'wag lang maingay. OK rin mag-inuman na lang sa loob ng hotel. Kapag peak tourist season mas lax sila sa ingay, sabi. Try n'yo ring bumili ng jutes.
