30 Things, 30 Days Before I Turn 30.

Then it hit me, in thiry days, I will be 30 years old! Tamang-tama ang binubuo kong 30 things to be grateful for. Lalo pa ngayo’t masaya talaga ako with what I have, where I am, who I am. Sabi ni Ianco, turning 30 will be difficult, and at some points it was; but today is not one of those fleeting moments.
Here are 30 things I am thankful for, and in true Miss Universe fashion, it will be in random order.

1. Living independently for almost 8 years now. Not renting anymore.

2. My first car.

3. The cutest, smartest, craziest, and most malambing pampangkins, who think I’m the best! (Can’t wait for them to grow up and see them handle the truth of the contrary.)

4. More than work, I have a career. Still part of the same company that employed me fresh out of college. Proud to be Kapuso.

5. The UP Mountaineers.

6. Just this year, I went on my very first helicopter ride. Katabi ko pa si Chris Tiu!

7. That I wasn’t a pimply teener. (Nagkakapimpols na MALAKI pero panaka-naka lang)

8. The coolest mom, Mommy Monster!

9. I’ve the opportunities, health, support, and drive to race in triathlons.

10. Na naging pacer ako ng UP Dragonboat Team.

11. Na hindi ako allergic sa alcohol.

14. Na sa UP ako nag-aral.

15. Na sumali ako ng Broad Ass.

Roy, Thea, and Val – na alam kong lagi kong mamahalin, at lagi akong mamahalin tulad nang ginagawa namin for the past 12 years now.

17. Na henerasyon ko ang peak ng Eraserheads. At naandu’n pa’ko sa Reunion Concert.

19. Na nagsusulat ako sa Camera Café alongside theater/film luminaries Rody Vera, Liza Magtoto, Dennis Teodosio, Vincent de Jesus, and Mark Meily.

20. Na bahagi ako ng napakasaya at talaga namang hinahangaan kong writing team ng Starstruck, a TV show that has broken so many records, and made Pinoy TV history.

21. Na maganda ang handwriting ko not because I was born with it, but because na-challenge ako nu’ng Prep na paggandahin ito matapos mag-comment ang teacher na “Matalino po anak n’yo kaya lang panget ang sulat-kamay niya.”

22. That my first kiss could not have happened in a place more magical than the private residence of Malang, in a dark corner surrounded by his works.

23. Na nawala ako sa Mt. Halcon nang ilang oras, which led me to promise God that I will hear Sunday Mass makabalik lang ako sa camp.

24. That I have so many great friends!

25. That I can make people laugh.

27. That one hot guy once asked if I understand Tagalog, kasi akala niya Puerto Rican ako.

28. That my parents’ marriage is very loving, and that they did not have to work abroad to put us through school.

29. Na Pilipino ako.

30. That I actually had no difficulty completing this list. Kulang pa nga.
